2010-2011 Teaching Highlights

Greetings all! I’m back in Shanghai for another school year, and things have picked up right where they left off. This year I’m teaching for an Australian company that has a joint venture relationship with Shanghai University, so back to college! My first week was really great, the kids are shy, but very well behaved!

The past school year was amazing as well, and I faced all sorts of trials and adventures. Teaching kids is hard, real hard. Especially when you speak different languages. I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, which most of the time was fun. But it didn’t come without its challenges that’s for sure. When I first took the job I thought to myself: “Self, this will be easy AND fun, total win win situation.” That was one of the biggest errs in judgement I’ve ever made, but challenges in life is what make it worth living. Here is a small peak into my life and some of the kids I taught at a primary school in the Hongkou district of Shanghai.

I’m going to try to be a better blogger this year! I’m still sorting out some things on my site, this stuff takes a long time! Especially for someone who doesn’t know how to make a website, but I’m figuring it out. Lots more to come soon, stay tuned!
